Advanced Toy Making

In advanced toy-making students get the feel of working in a character-sculpting studio. In this class you get to free yourself from the computer and work from the ground up to create your very own toy. This class offers advanced drawing training and character development exercises.

Needles, Pins & Scissors…(Intro to Fiber Arts)

Learn the basic principals of sewing & dying. First, learn how to sew an apron, and then learn to resist dye! You will make a bag and a pair of lounge pants with the fabrics you dye!

Intro to Painting & Drawing

Explore how to integrate mind, body, and spirit to create masterful illustrations of family members, stars, or icons. You will use mainly pastels.

Digital Photography

In this class learn to use a digital SLR camera just like a professional photographer. Ever wonder how to take photographs just like the fashion magazines? With this class you can learn all the Adobe Photoshop tricks just like any professional photographer. You will also learn to do special lighting techniques in a real live studio setting. So if you want to learn all these fun techniques this class is for you!

Wear it or Hang it (3D Costume/Fiber Sculpture – Advanced Fiber Arts)

Lean how to draw out and develop an idea into a 3D costume or sculpture. Students have the opportunity to select fiber to work with, or create your own by manipulating existing fibers. Open your mind and express yourself to the fullest!

Techniques with Acrylics (Advanced Painting & Drawing)

This is an opportunity to express yourself with a wet medium. Class will explore how to mix and apply this challenging medium to board, paper and canvas with your choice of subject matter.

Black & White Photo

Explore the opportunity to share your creativity and community with a pen pal in another city. Using pinhole and film cameras we will explore the city while learning the basics about black and white photography. A rad mix of assignments will encourage you to see the city in which we live in new ways and then share that vision with others.

Package Design

This is an opportunity to work to customize a popular toy called a Munny . With this toy the possibilities are endless. Using basic Photoshop skills combined with drawing, painting and sculpture students and teacher will work together to customize the Munny and the box it comes in. The end result is a personal toy that you have designed from head to toe.

Skate Board Design

In this class students will work to transform a raw skateboard into a work of art. Students will work in any way they can think to get their idea on to their board. Options include drawing, painting, Photoshop, stencils, spray-paint, wheat pasting, and screen-printing. With all of these tools the classroom will be an artistic free for all.
