turntableExpress yourself through recorded music and spoken word, or report on issues that are important to you. Work individually and as a team to produce a monthly show for the local radio station WYCE 88.1 FM. Learn the technical aspects of audio production and use professional equipment to create projects that matter to you and the community.

Mike Saunders

WMCAT Teaching Artist Mike Saunders is passionate about video and audio production. He is a producer on three award-winning films with Sob Noisse – “Coyote,” “Ape” and “Buzzard,” which premiered at the 2014 South By Southwest Film Festival and was featured at the New Directors/New Films festival in New York City. A lover of music, particularly those tunes he can find on vinyl, he is a co-founder of The Grand Rapids Soul Club and a popular DJ. Mike is also co-founder of Plastic Son Productions, through which he has worked with nonprofits to produce documentaries. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Grand Valley State University and completed the Lexia program at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
