Pharmacy Technician Program


WMCAT is addressing the demand for well-trained technicians to assist pharmacists in West Michigan and beyond. Pharmacy Technician program graduates will assume responsibilities such as filling orders, utilizing computer systems and software, and fulfilling other patient-specific duties. WMCAT trains individuals in all aspects of the field in accordance with ASHP guidelines, preparing them to become competent entry-level pharmacy technicians.

Graduates will be well-qualified to support a Registered Pharmacist in both retail and institutional pharmacy settings. This program begins in September and includes 1,140 hours of instruction and training over 42 weeks.

Medical Coder / Healthcare Support Services Program 


Healthcare service support is a much-needed skill in today’s market. WMCAT is training students for positions such as medical coding, billing, scheduling, patient registration, and other areas where knowledge of healthcare environments is a must. Our graduates have competency in many fields, including medical terminology, anatomy, pathophysiology and more. WMCAT’s program emphasizes the graduate’s ability to utilize critical thinking skills in analyzing medical records, properly assigning diagnostic and procedural codes and billing for maximum reimbursement. This program begins in October and includes 1,240 hours of instruction and training over 44 weeks.
